The event featured engaging workshops, panel discussions, and performances related to the craft of writing. John presented a PowerPoint Presentation, "Getting Started with Your Novel," that was attended by several hundred writers and students in the large lecture hall. Following his 45-minute presentation, he answered questions from the audience about mystery novels, industry insights, and how to hire a literary agent. This day-long event provided a great opportunity to learn and connect with fellow writers.

Press Release, Dateline: June 30, 2022. Star Wars 3: Fall of the Republic by John L. Flynn, Ph.D. has been reprinted on the Starkiller website, and is now available for all Star Wars and Science Fiction fans to read free of charge. Click here to read. Star Wars 3: Fall of the Republic by John L. Flynn, Ph.D. was a fan treatment John wrote in 1983, with the hope that George Lucas would read it and hire Flynn to work on the Star Wars saga. Instead, an unscrupulous friend of Flynn's printed dozens of copies of the treatment, and he sold them at sci-fi conventions as the "real" thing. Other dealers printed copies, and eventually, this fan treatment was all over the country (perhaps world); in another words, well before the Internet, John L. Flynn's treatment went "viral."

Ms. Pettyjohn is well-known to Star Trek fans for her pivotal role on The Gamesters of Triskelion,, the sixteenth episode of the second season of Star Trek: The Original Series. Angelique Pettyjohn played Shahna, the drill thrall for Captain Kirk when he and two other crewmembers are diverted to Triskelion. Her culture is a warrior culture, and she is forced to train Kirk in gladiatorial combat so that he might survive matches-to-the-death with other alien races. He will also be available for autographing as well. Dragon Con is a North American multi-genre convention, founded in 1987, which takes place annually over the Labor Day weekend in Atlanta, Georgia. As of 2021, the convention draws attendance of over 80,000 fans, features hundreds of guests and performers, and encompasses five hotels in the Peachtree Center neighborhood of downtown Atlanta. The hotels include the Hilton, the Marriott, the Hyatt, the Sheraton, and the Westin. The annual DragonCon parade is scheduled for Saturday morning, 10am to Noon.

Flynn, Ph.D. joined Elvis Aaron Presley Junior on tour in the State of Florida, appearing at venues (both big and small) all throughout the state from Port Charlotte to Fort Myers to Naples. Elvis appeared with Judy Love, a cousin of Elvis Presley, and a group of budding new singers. Each night, he entertained crowds of people who had come to hear him sing, and he impressed them with songs his father had made famous as well as songs that had propelled his own career to several Platinum albums. At the end of each concert, audience members lined up to meet him and John Flynn who had written the book about his mother, Angelique Pettyjohn: The Sci-Fi Siren Who Dared Love Elvis and Other Stars. Flynn sold dozens of books to fans who wanted to know about Junior's mother and how Junior became Elvis Presley's son.

Press Release, Dateline: April 1, 2023. John L. Flynn, Ph.D. appeared briefly at MEGACON 2023, with his friends Matt Sherman and Norman Worsley, and sold the last of his books about Angelique Pettyjohn. (He was actually almost sold out, and had to replenish his supply of books with a new order to the publisher.) While attending the convention, the trio heard Chevy Chase and Christy Brinkley reminiscing about their experiences making National Lampoon's Vacation and Gwendoline Christie discussing her roles on Game of Thrones (2011-19) and Star Wars: Force Awakens (2015). MegaCon Orlando, the Southeast’s largest fan convention, returned to the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando March 30-April 2, 2023, with a star-studded line-up of guests. This four-day fest features celebrities from the worlds of sci-fi, fantasy, horror, and comics. Fans can meet their favorites, get autographs and photos, view Q&A panels, and more.

Press Release, Dateline: August 1, 2023. John L. Flynn, Ph.D. is happy, healthy, and ready to attend. Prior to the previous year's Star Trek Convention in Las Vegas, John L. Flynn, Ph.D. had been taken seriously ill with the Covid Virus, and was quarantined at home, unable to attend the 56th Star Trek Convention in person. However, to meet his obligation, Flynn did overnight a PowerPoint presentation about Angelique Pettyjohn to the convention's office which was subsequently shared with attendees. One year later, he returned for the 57th Star Trek Convention with several boxes of Angelique Pettyjohn: The Sci-Fi Siren Who Dared Love Elvis and Other Stars to sell at the convention. He sold all but two books, and returned home happily empty-handed. He also enjoyed his first visit to the big show in Vegas.

The new artwork for the book covers is simply stunning, as evidenced with the covers for Architects of Armageddon and Terror at G-20. Those new releases will debut in the new year, 2024.

Flynn, Ph.D. has completed the 6th book in the Kate Dawson Mysteries, and the latest novel, titled China White-Black Death, is a prequel which explains how Kate Dawson becomes a member of the SFPD's Homicide Bureau. Jeanie Loiacono of the Loiacono Literary Agency has agreed to represent Flynn's new work, and she has it available for sale. Being a prequel, the story is set in 2008/9 with the introduction of a new drug from the People's Republic of China, known as China White. China White is the street name of Fentanyl, a potent synthetic narcotic linked to dozens of overdose deaths statewide — fifteen in the City of San Francisco. While laboring in Records, Dawson agrees to assist Frank Miller with his initial investigation on a part-time basis, and soon follows the clues down a rabbit hole where a wealthy industrialist, one of the richest men in the world, is linked with the Vice President of the United States in a conspiracy to distribute the deadly drug to every man, woman and child in North America. The purpose is "black death" for everyone who ingests the drug.
